More than 300 photos from the two Varsity playoff games are now

The Colts
playoff run ended March 28th at Pennington Field. The Colts fell
to Southlake Carroll by a score of 1-0 and finished the season
24-2-1. Prior to losing to Southlake Carroll, the Colts opened the
playoffs with an exciting 3-2 overtime win over Irving High School.
Although the season has ended, the Colts deserve recognition for a
very successful and memorable season!
The Colts entered the playoffs as District 8-5A Champs. They
finished District play with a record of 13-0-1 and an overall record
of 23-1-1.
Coach Waldrop reports that
Rogelio and Jose Funes made it to the 18-man cut in the
Sueño MLS 2008 competition. They
begin training camp starts next weekend. Sueño MLS 2008 is a
nationally-televised search to discover America's best undiscovered
young soccer players. Click

The Varsity squad is gaining some well deserved recognition in the
local area rankings. Coach Waldrop reports the Colts are ranked
4th in the Ft. Worth Star Telegram list and
8th in the Dallas Morning News list. Congratulations Varsity!

Junior Forward Rogelio Funes continues to draw attention with his
play on the field this season. Rogelio was the subject of the Fort
Worth Star Telegram's player "Spotlight" feature. Click

matchup vs. Trinity in the Arlington Martin Invitational

The Varsity team participated in the Seguin Cougar Cup Tournament
January 10-12 and came away as the tournament champs! The
Varsity beat Lamar in the semi-final game by a score of 6-1 and they
beat Seguin in the championship game by a score of 5-1. Coach Waldrop
reports the following players received All-Tournament recognition:

for his play in the Seguin Cougar Cup Tournament.

The Varsity team's win in the championship game of the
Seguin Cougar Cup Tournament also marked Coach Waldrop's
100th win as head coach of the AHS boys soccer program. In
addition, this season marks Coach Waldrop's 10th year as
head coach of the soccer program, making him the longest
tenured head soccer coach at AHS. (Coach Jack Reeves coached
the Colts for nine seasons from 1983-1991.) Congratulations
Coach Waldrop on reaching these two milestones!
