The Colts playoff run ended March 28th at Pennington Field. The Colts fell to Southlake Carroll by a score of 1-0 and finished the season 24-2-1. Prior to losing to Southlake Carroll, the Colts opened the playoffs with an exciting 3-2 overtime win over Irving High School. The Colts entered the playoffs as District 8-5A Champs. They finished District play with a record of 13-0-1 and an overall record of 23-1-1.

Coach Waldrop reports that Rogelio and Jose Funes made it to the 18-man cut in the Sueño MLS 2008 competition. They begin training camp starts next weekend. Sueño MLS 2008 is a nationally-televised search to discover America's best undiscovered young soccer players. Click here to read the latest story about their participation in the tryouts. In addition, you can click here to see a video interview with both players. Coach Waldrop is very proud of their achievements!

The Varsity team's win in the championship game of the Seguin Cougar Cup Tournament also marked Coach Waldrop's 100th win as head coach of the AHS boys soccer program. In addition, this season marks Coach Waldrop's 10th year as head coach of the soccer program, making him the longest tenured head soccer coach at AHS. (Coach Jack Reeves coached the Colts for nine seasons from 1983-1991.) Congratulations Coach Waldrop on reaching these two milestones!
